Plot: A partially idealized film of the controversial pornography publisher Larry Flynt (Woody Harrelson) and how he became a defender of free speech for all people. The story follows how Larry started with as a child selling moonshine with his brother Jimmy, got to the stage where he and his brother Jimmy (Brett Harrelson) owned a chain of strip clubs, before entering into publishing his magazine Hustler. Before Larry has to battle the people who are trying to stop the magazine going against the freedom of speech act in America after being sentence to 25 years in jail.
Verdict: Biopic Battle
Story: Biopics are always an interesting watch especially when you don’t know the story behind the person. This is no different as we see the struggle for what is legal but not wanted by the uptight in society. The story shows how fighting for what is right will get you what is rewarded but it will cost you a lot more than people would think. We follow through the years well, not getting too involved but giving enough information for each time and incidents in Larry’s life all leading to his final battle for his rights. (9/10)

Woody Harrelson: Larry Flynt the publicist who goes up against the laws in America to fight for his right to print and say what he wants in his magazine Hustler. Larry has to battle some personal demons after one incident changes his ways of life forever. Woody is brilliant here showing he can really shine in any role. (10/10)
Courtney Love: Althea the former stripper turned wife and business ideas lady for Larry, who would challenge the ideas to push the barriers of what they could do. Great performance from Courtney, who turns out to be a perfect supporting lady for Woody. (9/10)
Edward Norton: Alan, Larry’s attorney who sticks with him through all of the cases over the many years he spends in court with different charges against him. Good performance from Norton, who shows that even in a supporting role he can fit in without over shining the leads. (8/10)
