Story: The Paper Tigers starts when three former Kung Fu prodigies Danny (Uy), Hing (Yuan) and Jim (Jenkins) reunite after their master Sifu (Cheung) death. They have let themselves go after years away from the art form, but it sees them needing to remember the skills that made them great.

The three start investigating the death of their master only to turn about a mysterious side to his death. They must use their skills to defeat the man who took their master away from the world and overcome the odds to defeat him.

Verdict on The Paper Tigers

The Paper Tigers is an action comedy following three former prodigies living normal lives. It shows them coming back together needing to prove themselves in combat after their former master is killed.

This does seem to struggle with the comedy it wants to bring out. When it comes to the core of the story, it does a very good job of showing how prodigies might not reach their expectation in life. Showing how they end up in normal lives where not everything going well. When it comes to the fights they work well, bringing nothing new to the kung fu style we have seen. The performances in the film are strong and get the bigger moments to shine between the three leads.

Final Thoughts – The Paper Tigers is an easy-to-watch kung fu movie.
