Verdict on The Outwaters
The Outwaters is a found footage movie following four friends who head out to the desert. It is told in a way that we have a series of memory cards that tell a different set of events leading up to the horrors involved.
This is a found footage movie that could easily split the audience. I can see it from both sides, the gore and graphic nature of the events are a highlight. Nothing on this side of things gets held back. However, you could see people thinking it is gore to make up for the lack of story elsewhere. The darkness holds too much back and this becomes hard to keep up on. This could be one of the most talked about horror movies of the year and hopefully, it could find itself in the conversation with ‘Lake Mungo’.
Where to Watch: The Outwaters is in cinemas 7 April and on digital 8 May
Final Thoughts – The Outwaters is a gore-soaked found footage movie.
