The Outfit (2022) Review

Posted on the 04 March 2024 by Caz @LetsGoToTheMov7

Leonard Burling is an expert cutter in Chicago 1956, who must outwit the dangerous group of mobsters who use his shop and one fateful night it is about to get so much worse.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The specific relevant content for this request, if necessary, delimited with characters: An English cutter in Chicago with the custom tailor shop which is in a neighborhood controlled by an Irish Mob boss Roy Boyle; his son Ritchie is second in command and uses the shop to stash dirty money. Francis, who is an enforcer, is very erratic and doesn’t really think about anything first. Then we have Mable, who works in the shop for Leonard but is also the girlfriend of Ritchie, even though he doesn’t treat her in the nicest of ways.

This then becomes interesting as the different events quickly unfolded in front of our eyes and this is not something I can actually go into detail because it would spoil the plot. Expect the unexpected!

The Outfit does have plenty of twists and turns which is something that keeps you engaged throughout the film. I have to admit I didn’t really see the ending coming at all and it was actually quite a sweet way for it to go. I guess it also confirms that you cannot always believe someone who has suddenly moved to a new place!

I fully went in for this film for Mark Rylance, as he is one of my favorite actors. Always taking on those slightly different roles and being such a joy to watch. Which meant in all honesty he carried the film, but that was an easy task right!
