The OED is Listening

Yesterday I discovered, thanks to Jerry Coyne  (scroll down a bit), that Gary Larson had coined the term "thagomizer" in his comic strip. I made a post about it, but I also sent a tweet to some of linguist and lexicographer friends. Before long the good folks at the Oxford English Dictionary informed us that, yes, they'd been watching it.
