THE ODOR OF VIOLET BY JU EPHRAIMEThe Odor of Violet by Ju Ephraime is September 2012 release. published by Envision.
I received a copy of this book by the author in exchange for an honest review.
Damien lost his sight in a lab explosion. His fiancé dumped him because she couldn't deal with caring for a handicapped man. Now after Damien has had a few years to adjust to his blindness his friend and assistant, Jake is leaving and Damien needs a new assistant. He refuses to hire a woman because he doesn't want the indignity of having a woman help him dress and bathe. But when Lisa's elderly client passes away, she applies for the job of Damien's assistant. The moment she walks into the room for an interview, her scent of violets awakens more than Damien's sense of smell. He is drawn to Lisa in a way he can't understand. She gets the job of course.
It's not long before Damien and Lisa find it difficult to maintain a professional relationship. Damien also feels jealous of Lisa and Jake's easy relationship and fears there is a romance brewing between them.
Will Damien lose his battle to win Lisa?
This is the second book I have read by this author. Both times she has managed to create a hero that is just dreamy. This guy had me swooning. I also have a thing for characters that have a physical disability and work to overcome it. Damien is a little bit alpha male, but his blindness has him depending on others. However, Damien can rise to the occasion when push comes to shove. Lisa teaches Damien that beauty isn't just on the outside. Loving someone for who they are on the inside is what really matters.
This is a steamy hot and super sweet romance all rolled into one. Once again Ju Ephraime gets an A.
