The International Women’s Contact of Utrecht began in June 1992 and has been serving expat women in Utrecht ever since. Offering activities such as writing clubs, pub nights, sewing groups, coffee mornings, Dutch speaking groups, wine tastings, dog walks, mums and tots, and much more, the IWCU consists of women of all ages and nationalities, offering a safe place to speak English and build up a social network in their new home. The club also keeps other traditions and cultures alive by holding Christmas and Halloween parties and Easter egg hunts, just to scratch the surface.
My involvement with the IWCU’s bimonthly publication started with the March/April 2009 issue when my New Member Profile was published. Since then, I have been writing my own column for their bi-monthly magazine entitled Next Steps: Dates in the Diary of Tiffany Jansen. Beginning in November, I will be posting the entries here as well. To read past entries and see what I’ve been up to, click on the links below.
If you live in Utrecht and would like to find out more about the IWCU, go to their website. Do not fear if you are not located in Utrecht – there are IWCs in several provinces in the Netherlands!
