After meeting one of the owner's at a Burnt Enz dinner party and hearing all about how tasty Lardo was, I had to check it out. A bunch of us went on a Friday night and around 8pm the place was packed out. I like the industrial vibe of the interior and that you can see what's cooking in the kitchen. It's definitely a secret hot spot in the East right now, but word is spreading fast. We tried almost everything on the menu and weren't disappointed with the food or nice bottle the Transylvania red we had to go with our meal (as well as a cocktail or two). The menu constantly changes and we enjoyed everything from brick oven pizza's (cockles with chili a delicious combo) to the peach flavoured ice-cream. The prices are very reasonable, the waiters friendly and helpful, so it gets the full five stars - I'll definitely be going back for more...
