Story: The Naked Gun 2 starts two years after the events of the first movie. Frank (Nielsen) and Jane (Presley) have broken up and gone their separate ways. After a bombing in America, Frank is called in to investigate the crime, bringing him back into contact with Jane.
As the pair try to put their differences aside, they learn of the mastermind plan by business Quentin Hapsburg (Goulet). Frank must figure out how to stop the crime before he gets what he wants.
Verdict on The Naked Gun 2
The Naked Gun 2 is the first sequel in the Naked Gun franchise, it sees Frank getting involved in a new mystery. He must figure out how to stop the criminal before it is too late. Leading to him getting into a string of mishaps along the way.
This does follow the same story concept as the first movie. Seeing Frank getting into trouble before becoming the hero that saves the day. It continues to rely on the comedy that doesn’t hit, with most slapstick not getting any laughs along the way. In the end, it all feels more of the same with a lower standard throughout.
Final Thoughts – The Naked Gun 2 is more of the same, weak comedy that doesn’t hit.
