The Myth Behind Mirage

There lies a very twisted story behind Mirage, the so-called solo alias of a 19-years old Californian kid named Robin Nydal. This “kid” fooled (at least) two record labels, Pitchfork, The Fader, and about anyone who came in contact with his music.  I vividly remember reading/listening to “Blood for the Return” this spring and thinking; “how the hell could a 19-year old kid nobody heard of making music like this!?” Well, the story finally unfolded; read Todd Ledford’s (Olde English Spelling Bee) fascinating account of “one of the most bizarre projects (he’s) ever been involved with”
