While I am planning and fretting the wedding of my daughter, Danielle, I came across the most expensive wedding ever. A six day event costing the eighth wealthiest man in the world in excess of fifty million dollars to throw his daughter her wedding. I guess I should be grateful my daughter's is just one day at much reduced cost.
Vanisha Mittal married Amit Bhatia in 2004 in Versailles. Delivering to all those lucky enough to be on the invite list, a silver box holding the invitation and plane tickets was given. They stayed in 5 star hotels and the 1000 guests watched an elaborate display of fireworks over the Eiffel Tower while sipping on more than $1.5 million dollars of wine.
Certainly puts the budget you have put on your daughter's wedding into perspective. A custom temporary castle was erected for the bride and groom to stay in while their guests were flown in from India and other parts of the world on Boeing jets.
While we are still searching for a disc jockey for the wedding, Vanisha's father had the entire production expand over 6 days including Can Can Girls and various dance performances cheorographed and produced by Bollywood Production.
Happily, the bride and groom are still married today.
