The Most Controversial Plastic Trees Ever Made

Posted on the 23 December 2011 by Thehangline

What started off as a search for some festive holiday billboards to post here turned into this recap of outdoor ad campaigns by Treetopia. Green Christmas trees are so 2009. And they carry this concept through to their advertising by playing up social topics like homosexuality or local events like the Ohio State football scandal. They could have done something dull like “80 Different Colors to Choose From.” Instead, they could be single-handedly changing our perspective on what makes a Christmas tree a Christmas tree. And there’s no other medium that can do that faster than outdoor.
