Out and about with my student Westminster Guiding Course 2018/19 chums Ulrike and Ian last Friday when we spotted this seemingly impromptu tribute to comedian, actor and writer Graham Chapman at the base of Eros.
Monty Python's Piccadilly Circus?
Chapman died thirty years ago this year. There's a plaque dedicated to him on The Angel pub, one of his locals, in Highgate. The inscription reads "A very naughty boy"…
And he didn't live in Neal's Yard, despite the claim of this plaque…
Nor is this the cheese shop that inspired The Cheese Shop sketch (on Jermyn Street)…
And while we're about it… what did the Romans ever really do for us?
That's enough, now. Stop it. This started off as a nice post about a dead comedian, but now it's just silly (etc, etc…)
