Verdict on The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare
The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare is an action comedy following a select group of British soldiers assigned to take out a German unit. It follows them getting together and completing a mission which gives them plenty of problems.
This movie feels like a more bombastic comedic vision of Inglorious Basterds. It has a heist feeling to the operation, which takes plenty of twists and turns. The action feels big, and the crew feels slick in how they operate. It has a great cast, who embrace their character’s swagger to life. However, it does feel overly British in places, bringing a stuck mentality to everything unfolding. Even if this is based on real people, it can come off to comedic for its own good.
