the Memorial - Fantasy Picks
the Memorial Tournament:
Location: Dublin, Ohio
Course: Muirfield Village Golf Club
Par: 72
Length: 7,386 yards
Prize Pool: $6,200,000
Last Years Champion: Tiger Woods
The PGA Tour continues this week from Ohio with the Memorial Tournament.  For those unaware, this event was founded by Jack Nicklaus, is played on a Nicklaus designed course, all of which is only a stones throw away from where Jack was born and raised.  Only the top 75 players on last years money list are guaranteed invites, which makes for some steep competition.
The field this year is, not surprisingly, packed with the top names in golf, which always makes it a challenge narrowing down a list of favorites.  That being said, I think there are a few in the field who have already proven themselves this season, and a couple others who are ready to make their move.  Here's a look at the players I'll be keeping a close eye on...
Tiger Woods - With the way Tiger has been playing so far this season (4 PGA Tour wins), I really need no explanation as to why he's my top pick, but coupled with his history at this tournament (5 victories and another 3 top 5s) this really is a no brainer.  Both his long game, his short game and his putting are all looking amazing right now, so if I were a betting man, my money would be on Tiger this week.
Graham DeLaet - He's shown on multiple occasions this season that he has what it takes to be a contender.  Unfortunately he's struggled with putting together four consecutive rounds of golf.  He faded on Sunday at Colonial with a 74 to finish a disappointing T22, but has three top 10s and another four top 25s this season. I think this could be the week for Graham to string together four great rounds.
Keegan Bradley - After taking a week off, Keegan has performed well this season including his most recent runner-up performance at the HP Byron Nelson Championship, his best finish of the season. He currently sits ninth in FedExCup points, and surprisingly he's the only one inside the top 10 without a win. I think that could change this week at Muirfield.
Matt Kuchar - Coming off a great performance at Colonial where he held the lead after 36 and again after 54 holes, I think he'll be fired up this week.  He currently sits third in FedExCup points and is playing consistently well.  He's familiar with this event and the course with top 10 finishes in all of his last four appearances.
Lee Westwood - Playing consistently in his recent outings, Westwood has strung together five consecutive top ten finishes worldwide.  He hasn't played the Memorial since 2003, but I think he's more than ready to make his return a memorable one.
