Verdict on The Martin Decker Show
The Martin Decker Show is a comedy-drama following a middle-aged man struggling to succeed on YouTube. He has dedicated his life to making it happen, despite him making a fool of himself, as his life falls apart around him. However, deep down, he shows a more vulnerable persona.
This is a comedy showing how difficult life can become when life changes, leading people to chase desperate dreams. It is shown in a mockumentary style, showing how Martin’s life has changed and his hapless adventures. The movie shines in the personal moments, where you see the real Martin who is dealing with a lot of emotions driving a wedge into his life. Keiron Self is great in the leading role, as he brings the silly comedy side to the character at times, but shows the emotional damage he has been through too. In the end, this is an entertaining journey of self-discovery and learning to deal with changes in life.
