The is my first time reading the author.

The Marriage Pact is doesn't quite reach it's potential.

I loved the concept behind the book and the idea of The Pact. Some sinister things start to happen when Alice and Jake break the rules. Their actions seem perfectly harmless at first, but not to The Pact and punishments can be severe.

I enjoyed the writing style of the book. I found this compelling and the style use kept me turning the pages. However, the further I got into the book, the more preposterous and ridiculous The Pact and their rules became. I couldn't believe Alice and Jake, two intelligent people, a lawyer and a therapist would willingly allow themselves to be controlled by a group like The Pact. Good writing aside, the author didn't make me believe in the concept of the book.

The Marriage Pact has some good ideas. Unfortunately, these never quite pan out.
