We also have a medium-sized, gorgeous Mandylion icon of Christ that was given to us years ago by the grandson of a Bulgarian female iconographer. The Mandylion depicts the image not made by human hands that Christ left for King Abgar of Edessa, after the latter had written to Him asking to be cured of an illness. The icon is written in egg tempera on linden gessoed wood.
