Story: The Man in the White Van starts when a religious farming family Hellen (Larter), William (Astin), Annie (Wolfe), Margaret (Bassinger) and Daniel (Warren) go about their normal routines. Margaret is growing up fast, while Annie doesn’t want to grow at the same pace. Meanwhile, young women are disappearing around the local area.
Annie finds herself followed by the van, and the events happen over the next couple of years. The van returns each Halloween, but why is it only haunting one family?
Verdict on The Man in the White Van
Recap
The movie follows a teenager who finds herself stalked by a mysterious white van at the same time over a couple of years. Her family don’t believe her story and each year the encounters get closer.
Best Parts
The story takes a different approach to dealing with a serial killer, it uses the true story to show how the killer operated over the years. However, it doesn’t put any spotlight on the killer, only on the victims and what they suffered through. It gives us a great insight into the family and how they have problems, and their differences cause tensions too. The performances are great with Madison Wolfe continuing her storm through the horror genre.
Worst Parts
The movie puts the spotlight on how victim blaming can cause problems. It shows how no one wants to believe the stories, and nothing seems to get done with other women who have gone missing.
Final Thoughts –The Man in the White Van sends chills down the back of your spine.
