Story: The Machine starts as stand-up comedian Bert (Kreischer) tries to keep his family together. He has been struggling to connect to his teenage daughter and his stand-up routine has been shelved for now. However, his routine included a story about his time in Russia.

Now, the daughter of one of the people in the story Irina (Babic) has returned for what he stole. She abducts Bert and his father Albert (Hamill) as they try to remember what happened. However, Bert and Albert end up getting caught dealing with their own issues as things unfold.

Verdict on The Machine

The Machine is an action comedy following a stand-up comedian whose biggest story is based on real events. However, his past has come back to haunt when the people from his story demand answers. It follows him working with the Russian mafia to locate something he once stole.

This is one of the action comedies that doesn’t hit the way it wants to. It wants to create a wild over-the-top story which it does. However, the comedy tends to miss and rely solely on American TV culture. We have seen a few wacky moments and painful stereotypes.
