Luck Uglies was a name whispered around the docks and darkest taverns, places the law dare not tread…

Rye has grown up hearing the legend of the Luck Uglies – notorious deadly outlaws who once stalked the streets. Now they have faded to ghosts and rumours and Rye isn’t sure they ever existed. Then on the night of the Black Moon, a mysterious stranger known only as Harmless, steps from the shadows to save Rye’s life and Rye learns that sometimes it takes a villain to save you from the monsters…

Enter a thrilling world of secrets and fantastical adventure from a phenomenal new writing talent.

Ryan was sent a copy of the Luck Uglies. The book is aimed at children 9 and over. It’s quite a long read with around 400 pages and therefore quite a thick book as far as books go. It will certainly keep him busy throughout the school holidays.
It’s the sort of book that I would of wanted to read at his age (10) or maybe a little older. It seems like a good horror/mystery type story which will keep the reader engrossed, wondering what will happen next.
The book is by author Paul Durham and from the parts that I briefly browsed and the small section that Ryan has read, it seems to be set in a fantasy world with tales of heroism mixed with wonder and fear.
