The Little Fishy

Fish and chips are an unapologetically British tradition. Perfect by the seaside (even if you do have to guard your chips away from pesky seagulls) maybe with a cup of tea, or followed by ice cream; and The Little Fishy have put a little twist on the tradition.The Little Fishy have been frying up their freshly caught, locally sourced fish, since the beginning of the year, heading up a range of food festivals - and being a firm favorite at Tynemouth Market. 
The classic fish and chips, in panko breadcrumbs, with their twice cooked chips and tartar sauce is perfectly British. The light breadcrumbs allows the fresh fish to take precedence and the chips; well twice cooked is better than once cooked and I do enjoy my chippy chips. These have a crispiness, while being fluffy and light inside. Lashings of salt and vinegar are optional...
Cajun is a twist on the classic and adds a bit of a kick. Being a fan of spice, I decided to give this a go and the blend of herbs and spices really worked. Cajun works really well with the minted sauce you're given rather than tartar, and the minted mushy peas are a great addition. There's curry sauce and gravy also available too, as well as the usual culprits, HP sauce and ketchup.
Don't fancy fish and chips? Try the Fish Stack; The Little Fishy's take on the fish finger sandwich. You can choose classic or cajun fish and it's served in a toasted bun. It would be rude not to have a portion of chips alongside though, let's be serious!
Fish and chips will set you back a fiver, so it's pretty reasonably priced too, and for the amount of food you get; very generous! Everything is fried in front of you, so at busier times you might have a short wait; but it's worth it.
