Story: The List starts when Juan Torres (Abadie), Judge Pena (Silva) and Commander Lopez (Cano) find themselves surrounded by the residents of the city. The residents want justice for what they see as a wrongful outcome. We flashback to learn about the revolution granting freedom to the city.

The new leader grants the newly free people a chance to hunt down and kill anyone who supported the former regime. Whether it be the ones who took advantage of them or hurt them. He believes it is the only way to clean up the nation and now the members of the previous regime race to survive the night.

Verdict on The List

The List is a thriller following a group of political figures from a country seeing a regime change. It sees the new leader grant permission for the people to hunt down and kill anyone involved over one night of chaos. However, the secrets of one group come to light, as they search for safety from the mobs hunting them down.

This is a very interesting movie and seems to take the popular Purge concept and give it a better direction. Instead of it being about releasing built-up anger, it unleashes a repressed society on the people. The secrets from the world are kept away from some of the family members, while the hunt continues. It all leads to the idea of the group looking to overpower the people controlling them. In the end, this story has a social discussion and brings a new concept to a popular franchise film, without being connected to it.
