Story: The Liberation Men starts as two Canadian soldiers Roy (Ruhs) and Jack (Perkins) look to help defend a Dutch village. The Germans have taken part of it and the pair lead a rescue attempt for the civilians.
They face opposition from their CO (Sanheim) who has orders which must be followed. However, if they can prove the threat, they could save 100s of lives. They risk everything to lower the bloodshed but can they complete the task before it is too late?
Verdict on The Liberation Men
The Liberation Men is an action war movie following a couple of Canadian soldiers trying to protect Dutch civilians. They learn their unit is about to attack the German-occupied village, but must figure out how to protect the innocent people who remain in the town.
This movie is based on the true story of bravery. It uses this to give us a chance to learn about another small, but important story from the war which saved lives. The race against time adds intensity to the story even if the military conflict moments are not as intense as most war movies, (though they don’t need to be to tell this story). This is all about the human bravery shown to do the right thing in a horrible time in history.
Final Thoughts – The Liberation Men is a nice story of bravery from World War II.
