The LG Optimus L3 E400 Android phone which was introduced in Malaysia for the first time in May 2012 has become more affordable with a significant price cut. The Optimus L3 E400 was priced at RM499 at the day of launch and almost 10 months later the price has been lowered to RM317 (Lazada Clearance Sale) and RM375 (Lelong).

The Optimus L3, is an entry level device which runs on a 800MHz processor, chipped with 384MB of RAM, 1GB of storage expandable via microSD up to 32GB, a modest 3.2″ QVGA display, a 3MP camera and a rather generous 1,500mAh battery. The L3 runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread.

The only complain of this phone is the small system memory of 384MB, however users have suggested to move installed apps into the internal memory to reduce usage of system memory and improve performance.

Some of the suggestions that I found on the web to improve performance

Game Boost and Mobile Performance

  1. Download Advanced Mobile Care app. It has all the features that you need just in one tool.
  2. The AMC app includes: battery saver, game booster, app manager, encrypt files encryption, cache cleaning and JUNK files cleaning, antivirus updating, task killer, cloud backup, and privacy advisor.

Graphics Chip

When using Game Booster, playing games seem to be fine and can even run Dead Trigger.

Down Sides

Multi Tasking

The disadvantage of the LG Optimus L3 is that multi-tasking is a limitation, you can only multi task up to three apps in a row and there is no other way to go around it. This is perhaps due to the small system memory.

Resolution
Poor resolution.

My Opinion

Despite the limitation, the phone is great for a first time buyer of a smartphone, or those who are in a very tight budget or those who want to buy it as a second phone. If you like it, buy it, period.
