Story: The Last Breath starts when Noah (Parr) discovers a lost World War II battleship on the eve of his friend’s visit. Brett (Arnold), Sam (Spearman), Riley (Mullen) and Logan (Carter) see it as an adventure and talk Noah’s boss Levi (Sands) into taking them out to explore.
The five friends enter the wreckage searching for treasure and navigating the tight corridors. However, they aren’t prepared for the number of great white sharks lurking in the water. Now the group finds themselves trapped in the wreckage, getting hunted down by bloodthirsty predators.
Verdict on The Last Breath
The Last Breath is a shark thriller following a group of friends who explore a World War II wreck. However, they get lost in the corridors, and to make matters worse, they get hunted by sharks.
This shark movie gives us what we want from the concept. We get the trapped environment and friends fighting with each other. Sure, it is no Jaws, but it does create an enclosed situation. Even if the friends are filled with people I personally wouldn’t trust, as they are reckless in their behaviours. It falls into the situation where we can blame the people for putting themselves in a difficult situation, rather than wrong place at the wrong time. The movie does try to show different situation of dealing with incidents too, offering a more emergency feeling to what is happening too. Which is the highlight of the movie.
