I got to spend an enjoyable holiday in the Lake District, Cumbria, last week.
The only way I can accurately describe the Lakes, to anyone that’s never been there, is to say it’s like a massive playground. In all weathers you can walk, run, hike, climb and take in the most refreshing air you’ve ever breathed in. The scenery is like nothing else with rocky crags, rivers, waterfalls and of course the fells that dominate the land in all their glory.
The sun shone (mostly), during our stay. The people are always really friendly, the sheep were bleating and the food was delicious. Perfect.
We stayed in Patterdale, located the other end of Ulswater, part of the Eastern Lakes and a perfect base for exploring nearby towns such as Windermere, Ambleside and Keswick.
Of course it was a great opportunity to take some photo’s while we explored the Lakes on foot.
It’s actually quite tricky trying to portray the enormity and depth of the scenery we were surrounded with but I’ve given it a go!
Hope you like them as much as I enjoyed taking them.
