I found it surprising when I met mother who had never heard of this book, so I wanted to share. It’s another one of those, “it’s new to you moments!” While it’s a book that’s ideal for the first day of school, I found it fitting to share on Valentines Day too, since it’s all about L-O-V-E. The Kissing Hand is a sweet tale about a mother’s bond with her child. Little Chester Raccoon is a little apprehensive about the first day of school and shares his fears with Mother Raccoon.
She comes up with a brilliant idea to keep them close, even when they aren’t. This was the neatest tool when my oldest son started kinder. He immediately warmed to the idea offered inside the pages of this book. We use it even today and I’ll admit, it still warms my heart.
