The key to successful relationships: Keep the romance alive.
You may know from my previous blogs that I am a romantic at heart and believe that romance is a key to successful relationships. My position is clear – everyone needs romance, no matter how young or old.
Creating magical moments in your relationship is something most people think about, but few actually make it happen. Romance is a vital aspect of living and loving the person you’re with. Romance can take many forms in a relationship: the important reminder is to choose to maintain romantic feelings throughout your time together. This will result in longevity and a happier relationship overall.
You may have heard the phrase that “love makes the world go round.” Well, I believe romance does just that!
Just a few days ago, on Christmas Day, I was flying to New York to be with friends and family. During my flight, I was fortunate enough to witness a very romantic proposal.
As the plane was taxiing on the runway, the flight attendant made the following announcement:
“It’s Christmas today and the captain and flight crew have something special to give you. Is there a Ms. ‘K’ on the plane? A Mister ‘R’ would like to ask you if you would like to become a Mrs. ‘R.’ ”
Then Mister “R” immediately got down on one knee and presented a sparkling ring to her.
The flight attendant then asked, “Did she say yes?” As my seat was directly across from them, I watched her face as she nodded yes with happy tears of joy.
Next thing I knew, the whole plane was applauding.
This gentleman certainly thought about creating a moment to remember for the rest of their lives.
Whoever said romance has a single time and place? Romance has every time and all places – if you so choose. And what better time to choose than on the cusp of a brand new year.
So don’t forget this New Year’s Eve to create your own magical moment as you ring in 2013 with your special someone. Who knows – you may just have your own romantic proposal before long!
