The January Homeware Edit

By Winyeemichelle
These days I spend my evenings at home, tucked up under several blankets, aimlessly browsing websites for homeware and beautiful fitness gear. Honestly, I barely recognize myself ;) Back when I lived alone in Hong Kong, all I ever wanted was to spend empty evenings at IKEA or Francfranc, stocking up plush rugs, Instagram-worthy cushion covers and Japanese bowls. So many Japanese bowels. So until I own my own home, I suppose I can still lust over homeware and invest in some for that mythical Bottom Drawer, right?

Soft Furnishings

When it comes to decorating, soft furnishings are my favorite place to concentrate and make an impact. I typically have gray sheets on my bed but I’m currently in the market for something cute and patterned! George at Home have so many lovely ones in all the time, as do Urban Outfitters. This set is totally screaming my name. I also adore this darker one - deep green is a beautiful hue to add an earthy tone to any room. I’m really enjoying it with dark brown and brassy gold at the moment.

Cushion Covers

I absolutely LOVE adding throw cushions to my bed and to my sofa - when I had my own! - much to my boyfriend’s dismay. Whilst they are a little annoying (I just stash them in a collapsible hamper like this from H&M whilst we sleep), they add texture and depth to a bedroom and are great for becoming the color focal point of a living room. This stag print cushion cover is adorable and adds a neutral vibe, perfect for complementing any host of color that I add. Our living room is mostly dark brown and cream with bright fuchsia pink, this one perfect! Cushion covers in Yorkshire Linen UK are lovely for any room of the house.

Decor + Thangs

I’m totally a trinket girl. Love. Them. I’m an avid collector of things related to my favorite fandoms, ready to splash personality into my future forever home but additional things like this beautiful Solar System print from Habitat and a quirky doormat are high on my wishlist. In fact, I’m tempted to snap up the print SOON and pop it in my bedroom (:
