The analyst says that the high-end phones of 2020 will bet on powerful telephoto lenses and one of them will be Huawei’s next flagship cell phone.

Huawei will launch the Huawei P40 Pro phone with a powerful 10x optical zoom, according to renowned analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.

The MacRumors site echoes the information of Kuo, a reliable analyst who mentions that in addition to the Huawei P40 Pro other manufacturers will launch cell phones with lenses capable of zooming in optically, a method that is better than the digital zoom used in many cell phones currently.

Kuo does not specify which optical zoom the new high-end will have, but Samsung is expected to follow in the footsteps of Huawei. A recent report suggests that the optical zoom of the Galaxy S11 will be 5x and the telephoto lens – which also helps to take better long-distance images – will be 48 megapixels.

The analyst does not mention what Apple will do, but it is rumored that the Cupertino firm will also improve the optical zoom on their phones. The iPhone 11 Pro offers an optical zoom of just 2x and a digital zoom of 10x.

A report from the usually reliable DigiTimes site says Apple will launch a new form of stabilization on the cameras of the 2020 iPhone, a cell phone also known as the iPhone 12 . Stabilization helps a zoomed picture not move and the result is better.

Apple, Huawei, and Samsung have not commented on their next product plans.
