A total of 111 known as ‘Nelson’ is considered an unlucky figure in the game of cricket as it resembles three stumps without bails. More often than not a wicket does fall on 111.
In the 23rd Limited Over encounter between St Servatius College and St Thomas College Matara played at Uyanwatta Stadium on recently, two wickets fell with the score on 111.
In the fifth ball of the 36th over of the St Servatius innings, Wiran Chamuditha was stumped by Nipun Samarasinghe off the bowling of Peasandu Sanjan with the score on 111 and in the very next ball new batsman Thishan Dewmith was out lbw.
