This infographic focuses on the idea that gun technology has changed radically over the last 200 years, where as the fundamental laws enabling gun ownership in America have remained largely unchanged.
This infographic does not deal with statistics about gun violence (like many other infographics have done) but simply compares the power of weapons now and then.
In 1791 when the 2nd Amendment, “the right to bear arms” was adopted, a highly trained solider could shoot 4 rounds per minute. Today using a semi-automatic rifle someone can shoot 40 rounds minute.
Considering the enormous evolution of guns since 1791, it begs the question, “we have the right to bear arms, but is it right to bear arms”.
