From punk to jazz, with a little music hall thrown in along the way, we'll be collating them all here on The Daily Constitutional over the next few weeks in the run-up to the launch of our new Rock'n'Roll London Pub Walk every Wednesday from 1st May 2013.
As usual, we want to hear from you. What are your favorite London songs? I read your blog every day, and I just had to respond to your latest request from London Walkers – I have been in their number since about 1984 and my first trip over – about favorite London songs.
Mine is “Feed the Birds” from the movie “Mary Poppins”.
In fact, after doing Shaughan’s ghost walk tour around St. Paul’s in October 2009, I stopped near the cathedral, and gazing up at the lit dome around 10 pm on a lovely fall evening, that song came to me. I even began humming it to myself as I admired that beautiful cathedral.
Hearing “Feed the Birds” reminds me of that moment.
Can’t wait for my next trip to London!

The Rock'n'Roll London Pub Walk launches on Wednesday 1st May 2013. The Rock'n'Roll London Walk (without pubs!) goes every Friday at 2.00pm. Both walks meet at Tottenham Court Road Station (Exit 3).
