The Game is Afoot by @attaboyc

In 1939, 20th Century Fox teamed Basil Rathbone with Nigel Bruce in their lavish production of The Hound of the Baskervilles and Hollywood introduced one of the most enduring detectives to the world of film. Over the decades interest in Sherlock Holmes wavered and he appeared antiquated to a modern world on the brink on a second world war, until a new plan was instigated.

I am a huge fan of Sherlock Holmes, all the different incarnations of him in TV, film and literature. I know all of Doyle's tales thanks to The Complete Sherlock Holmes via Audible which is narrated by Stephen Fry and a pleasure to listen to. I was looking forward to this podcast immensely. I really enjoyed it. The Hound of the Baskervilles is my favourite Holmes tale. I haven't seen the 1939 version so I need to check it out. I enjoyed the way this podcast discusses how Holmes became the much-loved detective he still is so many decades later. Like the other podcasts from The Secret History of Hollywood this is well written and well researched.
