The Future is Here: Self-Assembling Furniture Powered by Mini Robots

Roombots, a project from Ecole Polytechnique Federerale de Lausanne (EPFL) that was funded by the Swiss NCCR in Robotics, explores simple modular robots that create moving, self-assembling furniture. Each Roombot is an autonomous unit that cooperates with its group to self-assemble, self-modify, and move to different locations as needed. Connectors between individual units enable the creation of versatile and flexible structures.
