Walter Crow's first collection of rings 'Initiation' was designed in collaboration with tattooist Victor J Webster and draws inspiration from Russian prison tattoos. Tattooed rings on an inmate's fingers were a sign of the bearer's rank when the individual was clothed. The bold lines on this ring form a symbol that showed the wearer's disdain towards those in positions of power. The majority of the designs reference ideas can be found in the Old regime when the criminal code was rife throughout the Russian prison system. The rings are made from robust sterling silver with an oxidized finish. Russian engravings are made in the inside.
