Bored & Hungry, the world’s first Bored Ape restaurant, has debuted the Food Fighters NFT range. According to Nguyen, the collection will “save the restaurant industry” and foster a community around food’s common language.
The Universe of Food Fighters NFT Collecting is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to the collection of Food Fighters Universe (FFU), and NFT collection that connects food and the Web3. When FFU starts in May, it will be a collection of 10,000 unique tokens on the Ethereum network.
Each NFT purchase will help launch the world’s first NFT-backed restaurant group. The group’s primary objective is to create gathering locations in both the physical and the metaverse. Additionally, deliver value and experiences to Food Fighters NFT holders.
Members of each NFT will have access to special events, incentives, and rewards on Web3 and in the real world. The package includes tickets and line hopper passes to the annual Food Fighters Festival in person. Additionally, there will be hidden restaurants such as “Easter Eggs” for the Food Fighter community. Additionally, NFT holders will acquire ownership of the intellectual property and commercial usage rights.
In the spirit of Web3, discussions on Discord, Twitter, and other platforms will be utilized to explore control over restaurant locations and menu items.
“We launched Bored & Hungry to show people that NFTs are more than ‘just a JPEG’, that the IP can be used to create brands and businesses,” said Nguyen. “Food Fighters Universe is an extension of that idea.”
“This project got inspired by seeing all the problems that are currently happening in the food & beverage industry. High food cost. High turnover of staff. Quality of service. I saw the Web3 space as a way to fix those problems and save the restaurant industry.”
Nguyen and Seo will collaborate on themes and dining experiences by bringing together their favorite chefs and individuals. Bernard Freeman, a rap legend, and NBA All-Star/entrepreneur Baron Davis are both Food Fighters team members. Josh Ong, a consultant, and counselor to the NFT is also participating in the endeavor.
frensHouse is developing the project in collaboration with Bad Decisions Studio’s augmented reality and 3D artwork. The artist frothyoatmilk created the collection of NFT characters, which includes “Super Foodies” such as pizza, ramen, ice cream, and sushi. At random, each NFT will be assigned a rarity characteristic.
1% of the revenue from the sale of Fighters Universe NFTs will be given to food sustainability and world hunger initiatives. The first two winners will be Abound Food Care and Action Against Hunger.
