I enjoyed this much more than the first book, TheAshes of London. It's clear the first book was just setting the stage andbuilding up the characters for The Fire Court. The characters and plotreally come into their stride. I felt much more invested in the characters thatdevelop a lot. Unlike, The Ashes of London, the plot in this book iswell written. I enjoy a good mystery and this is the core of this book. Theplot strands that seemed to go nowhere in the first book develops fully in TheFire Court. There are also a lot of new plot strands. I enjoyed this book alot more and felt it exceeded my expectations.
