Story: The Final Level: Escaping Rancala starts when Sarah and Jake have an unexplained event in an arcade. 10-years-later Sarah (Chancellor) is reopening the arcade with her two best friends Chrissy (Sweet) and Rae (Tuttle). When the same machine arrives, it seems to have the same game ready for players to join.
The three decide to play the game, only to find themselves sucked into the game too. Sarah, Chrissy and Rae must navigate an island resort that is giving them different problems to face to get through different levels. They must defeat the levels and learn their skills if they are going to save Jake and escape the game.
Verdict on The Final Level: Escaping Rancala
The Final Level: Escaping Rancala is an action-adventure movie following three friends that get sucked into a video game. It leads them on an adventure to save one of their brothers who went missing years before. This takes them on a journey facing different levels of enemies along the way to make it out alive.
The movie might well be a knockoff of the Jumanji movies, but it seems to work well. It gets to embrace the idea of being trapped in a video game idea. This even moves things to the next level from what Jumanji offered, which was at times quite limited. When it comes to the story, it is pretty much the same as Jumanji The Next Level. The performances are fun, with the three leading ladies showing their kick-ass nature.
Final Thoughts – The Final Level: Escaping Rancala is one of the best knockoff movies.
