TNAU  offers 13 undergraduate degree programs, forty graduate degree programs and twenty-six doctoral programs in 14 colleges distributed in 11 campuses all over Tamil Nadu. Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions or TNEA in short, is a department of Anna University that looks after admissions to B.E & B.Tech courses in engineering colleges all over the state. All colleges which are under Anna University admit students based on their PCM scores in 12th standard board examination. Unlike most other states, there is NO separate entrance test in Tamil Nadu.  Candidates must obtain a minimum of 50% marks in each Physics, Chemistry & Maths.  Once the results are out, they  need to fill the application form either online at www.annauniv.edu or by physically obtaining it from the  centers:    Once all the applications are received, TNEA will publish a rank list on its website based on PCM marks out of 200. For this, they convert marks in Mathematics out of 100 and combined marks in Physics & Chemistry out of 100. Then counselling happens with candidates being notified in advance.  They will be called for counseling according to your merit rank, where you will have to decide the college and stream of your preference from the available options.  Once the student gets  desired college, they  need to pay Rs. 5,000/- to reserve the seat.  All the  original documents are to be  verified before the admissions. The foregoing does appear simple, lucid, easy to comprehend – for common net savvy people. But, remember, there are people from villages and not all in the city are net savvy….. away from this, in the fast busy lane, many of us generally close our eyes to what happens nearby - and some of us chose to complain that World is bad ...... One must believe - there are good people and some great human beings.... Hats Off to this group for what they did to this prospective student ! – this morning I read this on Facebook, was really moved – really because, I never thought that one could even imagine helping in this manner and that a small group could organize and channelize their effort in such a brilliant manner, which definitely more people should know. What follows is mere reproduction of whatever was posted on FB by a person named Kanna AP and which by this AN has been liked by more than 10000 and shared by 5000 people. Sharing this mornings experience.  Miracles do happen in our daily life: - On 8th. Aug. 2015 @ 6.30 am a uneducated single mother with her daughter were in Anna University Campus Chennai, looking for direction for Anna Arangam for her daughter counseling in B. Sc. Agriculture @ 8.30 am. The mother a farmer tending cattle , and girl from a small village near Trichy due to some misguidance did not know that the counseling was in Agriculture University @ Coimbatore. Luck for the girl turned from some early morning walkers who informed her that she was to be in Coimbatore rather than Chennai. The girl had scored 1017/ 1200 though suffering from illness during the +2 exams, somehow got misguided to attend interview at Chennai. Thanks to the effort of one of the walkers who informed that he would sponsor to send both of them by flight immediately to Coimbatore. Other walkers pitched in friends/ contacts to inform the Registrar of the case. By 7.50 am it was agreed to look into the case. Meanwhile breakfast was provided to the mother and daughter . The sponsor of the flight tickets transported them by @ 8.15 am to board the 10.05 am Coimbatore flight. Arrangement were made to pick them at Coimbatore airport @ 11.40 am by car. They reached the University counseling by 12.15 pm The Registrar had made arrangement to ensure that the candidate got fair counseling. Through the counseling the candidate has been offered B.Sc. – bio technology in TNAU – Cbe. @ 2.00 pm the same. Lets all believe that miracles do happen in our lives. – God Bless….
