Telesales personnel is being searched all over Independent Utility Advice Ltd and Home Improvement Finance Ltd.
A businessman behind a Newcastle energy broker claims they are seeking more than 100 new employees and is planning to create more jobs with an entirely new venture.
Graham Ritchie, 36, director of management at Independent Utility Advice, employs 50 employees. The demand triggered by the energy price means that he requires more salespeople in the call center.
The business – which has been operating since 2017- is based at Newcastle’s Hadrian House, but the company is set to relocate into 8,500 square. Feet. of space within Stockbridge House on the city’s Quayside that has been subject to an upgrade of PS200,000.
Mr. Ritchie, who started working as a plasterer before transitioning into telesales, stated: “We’ve filled out the offices we have and are now planning to increase the number of employees. I was not sure we’d make it to this level; however, it’s an excellent problem to face.
“At this moment the demand for lower-cost energy contracts is going through the sky. This is what everyone wants currently. There’s never a better time to assist businesses.”
Independent Utility Advice – which Mr. Ritchie says has around 500 customers in the UK. It is in search of individuals with experience in telesales.
In the meantime, Mr. Ritchie plans to create a new brokerage firm known as Home Improvement Finance that aims to connect homeowners with financing to fund home improvements. The idea, he says, is a possibility to create many telecom sales positions.
He said: “I’ve got tradesmen friends, and they tell me that this is a genuine demand. The plan is to fund home improvement projects, and there’s a massive demand due to the increasing prices.
“Say that, for example, a roofing contractor visits your home and offers you a quote of PS7,000 for the roof. Many people will not be in a position to afford it, so we can spread the cost over as long as ten years and provide them 0% interest-free credit.
“The clients will come directly to us through a marketing campaign and that we’ll engage tradesmen who will offer our services directly to customers when they enter their homes.”
Mr. Ritchie claims that the business is currently in the final phases of FCA approval, will establish another call center operation that will have advisors call UK households and back-office personnel and could employ tradespeople who are on its books.
Home Improvement Finance, which will also be based at Stockbridge House, will facilitate deals with a panel of lenders that Mr. Ritchie has said have backed the concept.
He also said: “The interest we’ve had in our offer has already been absurd. There’s no other company doing this.”
