Story: The End of Sex starts when Emma (Hampshire) and Josh (Chernick) send their daughters off to a winter camp. However, the pair don’t know what to do with their time without the children around. They decide they want to actually have sex, until they find themselves feeling bored with what they are used to.
The two-start looking at their lives and turning to their friends to improve their adventures. This leads to them going through a series of comical events to spark their sex life again.
Verdict on The End of Sex
The End of Sex is a romantic comedy following a married couple who start to find their sex lives vanishing. As they try to reignite their sex lives, they find themselves trying things outside the norm. However, it leads them to start having the biggest argument in their marriage.
This is a rom com that shows how a marriage can go from normal to extremely messy over the smallest detail. It never seems to show why the couple decides to go to such extreme lengths to spice up their sex lives. There doesn’t seem to be a middle ground to anything, it is all only extremes. Nothing feels that realistic and everything feels like forced. Everything in the movie feels like it lacks any spark for romance or comedy.
Where to Watch: Blue Finch Film Releasing presents The End of Sex on digital 3 July 2023.
Final Thoughts – The End of Sex lacks the spark it is trying to start.
