AS USUAL, I'm totally late in the game. I FINALLY got a Utility Jacket, and I'm completed OBSESSED with this embellished Hanson Anorak jacket by CABI. Every season, some version of an army green jacket comes up, and I think, "Nah! Too casual!" Don't even ask me what life I think I'm living because my life is 99% casual! Ha! You get the 1% glamorous on the blog and Instagram! LOL! BTW, survey results are coming and I'm starting a new series with more "casual outfits" soon! I can't wait to share!
Basically, this jacket had me at sequins! The bird and star patches sent me over the top, and it had to be mine. My concern about an anorak jacket being too casual was gone in a flash. We were surprised during CABI Blogger Day, and they gifted us with some items from the Fall Collection. I would have purchased it from my stylist, Stacey, otherwise!
THE STYLE Rx: A utility jacket will do exactly as the name implies and be a well-used piece in your wardrobe. Army green is a great neutral and it can be worn all seasons.
It literally goes with everything. Here, I've worn it with a white tee, uneven hem skinny jeans, and heels for a dressier look. It would be so fun with a striped top, skinny jeans, and sneakers on a day for errands. It's a great transition piece and would be fabulous with denim shorts and a tank or even over a dress. If you want a completely different look, then wear it as a tunic top over pants and cinch the waist!
One of my friends, Victoria, had an awesome idea to add patches to the jacket she already owns. It's genius, and they can be sewn on (for easy removal later if you change your mind).
Do you own a utility jacket? How do you wear it?
Hope everyone's week is going well. Did you get a glimpse of the eclipse? On Monday, we went to the top of our parking garage during lunch break to check it out! So cool! Today, Baby girl and I are hanging out. She had her 15-month appointment which ended with vaccinations. :( We're taking the day to rest since she is usually pretty tired and sometimes grouchy after shots. Who wouldn't be?
