Verdict on The Electricity in Me

The Electricity in Me is a short drama that shows a woman Joan (Torchia) talking about regret in her life. It shows her in tears as she confronts the trauma of giving up her baby son and the ‘Monster’ who made her pregnant. This dives into why she was so conflicted about what happened in her life and wants to show how much she would want him back.

The movie is a personal account that writer and director Mat Sheldon learnt about from his own birth mother. It is from her memoirs after her untimely death he learnt the truth and set about telling the story of the conflict she had.

The movie does have a heart-breaking story. It is one you could never imagine how the real person went through. Ellora Torchia manages to bring every ounce of the pain out in her performance.

Final ThoughtsThe Electricity in Me is an impactful personal account of the consequences of a life-changing decision.
