It's still more than a year before the next general election, but interest is already pretty high among the public. About 60% say they have already given a lot of thought to that coming election. About 70% of Democrats say that, while 67% of Republicans do.
That's pretty good news for Democrats, since as the top chart shows, there are more Democrats than Republicans in the U.S. right now -- about 5 points more.
