The Dream

“You know, I had a dream last night, where you were telling me that you have another wife whom you had married before me. And then, my dream moves to a scene where your first wife is trying to kill me. Our dog tries to save me but she kills him too, and then attempts to kill me again.” He turns to her in his sleep and snuggles on her lap.

She is all set to leave for work, and had come to say bye to him, when she remembered the dream. “What a ridiculous dream, right? I hope you don’t have another wife. If you do, could you please ask her to not kill me and our dog?”, she joked as she patted her dog who was lying at her feet.

He sleepily opens one eye to look at her. “I am scared enough of you and your dreams. I don’t think I will be able to handle another one like you.” She laughs again, gives him a goodbye kiss and leaves for work. He waits till he hears her driving off and makes a call.

“It appears she is on to us. This morning, she says she had a dream of the exact same thing we were talking about last night. Either she must have heard our conversation and her subconscious mind pegged it as a dream, or she has a very active imagination. Either way, let’s hold on to the plan for a bit longer.”

“Don’t worry. She will have to die sometime very soon. I will make sure of it.”
