Ambreen Razia's critically-acclaimed theatre performance is translated into this wonderfully intimate audio recording. Described as 'astonishing and engaging' ( British Theatre), it's a story that confronts the challenges of being a teenage girl in a traditional Muslim family alongside the temptations and influences of growing up in London.

I loved listening to this. This is everything you expect from a modern play, monologue of one completely modern character, cultural references and a brutal exploration of not just life as a teenage girl, but life as a teenage girl straddling two worlds but not quite fitting into either. This tackles the usual teenage angst such as stressing about exams, liking boys, friendship and growing up with added anxiety about cultural expectations. There are also so dark moments as well. This was an incredible piece of work.
