Story: The Devil Has a Name starts as Gigi (Bosworth) needs to explain how she let her latest attempt to buy off a farmer Fred Stern (Strathairn). As Big Boss (Molina) needs answers. Fred will find himself coming under pressure from Gigi. Who will send threats, leaving Fred against a wall, not willing to give up.

Fred turns to experience lawyer Ralph (Sheen) to fight in his corner, as he fights the case against the oil giants who have been poisoning the farm with drilling for years.

Thoughts on The Devil Has a Name

The Devil Has a Name is a courtroom thriller that will see a farmer going up against an oil giant that has been poisoning his farm for years. This is a story that will show just how corrupt the oil business is. It shows how the people with the money will use it to get whatever they want, stepping on people to get there.

The story will give plenty of twists along the way, as we see everyone involved looking to get the upper hand in the case. Kate Bosworth is incredible in the leading role. She gives a turn unlike many performances we have seen from her before. We do have a fantastic cast in this movie, where everyone gives us great performances. The downside on this film does come from where everything goes. It doesn’t seem to dive enough into the science behind what has been happening. More about attack the people involved in the case, rather than the crime committed.

Final Thoughts – The Devil Has a Name is an interesting thriller with plenty of twists.
