The development of the Samsung Galaxy S4 is underway

For fans of the popular Samsung Galaxy S3, this could be a good news for you, a German Tech website, telekom-presse.at has reported that the development of the much anticipated Samsung Galaxy S4 (which will be the scuccessor of Galaxy S3) is well underway. It has been spotted in the AnTuTu bechmark for both the Korean variant of the Galaxy S4 (Model SHV-E300S) and the international version, GT-I9500.  According to the website, the Galaxy S4 will be powered with Android 4.2.1 (Jelly Bean+).

Based on the benchmarking results, the Galaxy S4 is equipped with the latest octa-core processor Exynos 5 which was presented for the first time at CES 2013 in Early January. The Graphic processor (GPU) is a Mali-T658 with 2GB of RAM. The camera in an impressive improvement from the Galaxy S3, which is now at 13MP rear camera and a modest 2MP front facing one.

The Xynos 5 octa chip which was designed by ARM features an eight-core processor: it is divided into two sections,  the first one is a four Cortex-A15 chips which will be used for demanding applications, while the other part is another four energy-efficient Cortex-A7 processors which will be used largely for background processes and help extend battery life. Samsung claims that the 28nm octa-core Exynos 5 will help it to achieve “70% power saving” compared to the Exynos 5 Dual-core.

At the recent CES 2013, Samsung unveiled a staggering 4.99-inch superAMOLED display with full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, there is a possibility that the firm could be using the screen for the Galaxy S4. Rumours are out that Samsung might announce the Galaxy S4 in March and a full launch in April.
